Living Stones

Building spaces. Strengthening ministry. Changing lives.

Make Room for Ministry

More room at the table means more lives reached.

Every Gift Becomes Part of the Story

More than 90% of the project funding is already being provided through matching grants.

Camp Lutherhaven is preparing for a new season of ministry—creating more room to welcome campers, serve families, support staff, and help people encounter Jesus Christ.

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,
offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
(1 Peter 2:5-6)

Matching grants from foundations such as Lilly Endowment Inc. and The Lutheran Foundation are providing 92% of the funding needed for these improvements. We are inviting the Lutherhaven family to help provide the remaining 8%.

Making Room for Ministry

The Living Stones Campaign is about much more than buildings. It’s about creating more opportunities for campers, families, staff, volunteers, and guests to experience Christ through the ministry of Camp Lutherhaven.

These projects will create a more welcoming arrival, expand the number of campers Lutherhaven can serve, strengthen support for seasonal staff, and prepare camp for years of faithful ministry.

Projects

Agape Welcome Center & Site Improvements

A first impression that feels like home

A central Welcome Center will bring registration, health services, information, and staff offices together in one convenient location. Outdoor seating, picnic areas, landscaping, and a campfire devotional space will extend the welcome beyond the building.

Dining Hall & Kitchen Upgrades

Making room at the table

Expanding the dining hall from 168 to approximately 220 seats will allow Lutherhaven to welcome up to 40 additional campers each week. Kitchen upgrades will help staff serve the larger camp community safely and efficiently.

New Staff Housing

Caring for those who care for campers

New housing will provide safe, modern accommodations for approximately 20 seasonal staff members while also supporting ministry interns throughout the year.

New Basketball Court

A place to play, gather, and belong

A replacement basketball court will preserve one of camp’s most popular spaces for recreation, mentoring, and community.
