Homeschool Outdoor Education Program

For the 2021-2022 school year, Camp Lutherhaven is offering a monthly outdoor education program for homeschool families. This program is designed to provide a monthly outdoor education experience to supplement regular educational experiences throughout the year.

This school year, those opportunities will take place on the second Tuesday of each month, except for May which will be the first Tuesday. See the following dates and topics we will cover.

Sept. 21 Water Works Look at, sit upon, and walk through water to learn
Oct. 12 Treetop Explore creation from a different viewpoint, high up in the trees at Lutherhaven’s Treetop Village!
Nov. 9 Rocks Rock! Dig into the earth and see geological treasures.
Dec. 14 Chemistry Curiosity Experiment to see chemistry in action, in nature.
Jan. 11 Who’s Hungry? Learn about food chains, sources, and make something fun to eat!
Feb. 8 Investigation Station Ask questions about how things work and investigate the answers!
Mar. 8 Creation Sings Get a little musical and experience how all of creation sings God’s name.
Apr. 12 Green Thumb Develop your green thumb and learn about plants.
May 10 Classic Camp Enjoy the classic camp activities, from archery to canoeing!

Each day will begin at 9:15am with registration and drop off followed by opening songs and a devotion at 9:30am. Four lessons will be taught with time for lunch in the middle before saying goodbye at 3pm. Students will need to bring a sack lunch with them.

Cost for the first student is $15 and $10 for every additional student in the family. This program is for students 3rd through 8th grade. Please send us an email with your families’ contact information, the parent(s) names, and names & grades of the children attending by the 1st of each month.
