Chicken Dinner

You’re invited to Camp Lutherhaven’s Chicken Dinner happening on Sunday, July 25th, 2021!

This year, the worship in our open-air Pavilion will begin at 10am with the chicken dinner to follow.

Seventy two years and counting! That’s how long the ministry of Camp Lutherhaven has been touching lives for Jesus. Save the date because we would love to have you join us and lend your voice as we give thanks for God’s continued blessing to the many campers, families, staff, churches, schools, and other organizations that have called Lutherhaven home.

Our guest speaker will be Rev. David Easterday, Former pastor at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Crown Point, IN.

Easterday is a life-long Hoosier graduating from Indiana University in 1975, with a degree in Elementary Education. He first worked at United Technologies in automotive engineering. He then set aside his engineering career and studied at Concordia Theological Seminary, graduating in 1994. Rev. Easterday served several churches, with his last full-time role being at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crown Point before beginning partial retirement in 2015. Then, he served Lake George Lutheran Chapel part-time until 2020.

His hobbies include reading, making home repairs, camping, and working with Lionel model trains. Pastor Easterday married his high school sweetheart, Joyce, in 1972. They are blessed with three daughters and three grandchildren who all live in the Indianapolis area.

Easterday is no stranger to Lutherhaven, having served as Pastoral Advisor for the Camp board of directors from 1995-2005. During that time, he considers it a blessing to have gotten to know the full-time and summer staff. He performed a wedding for two past summer staffers as well as a baptism of another right here in Lake Muncie.

Prices, paid at the door are:
Adults (Ages 13+) $10/person
Children ages 6-12: $6/person
Children 5 & under: free

The dinner will include chicken, vegetables, potato salad, drinks, dinner roll, and dessert.

With the challenges of this past year’s pandemic, this year’s proceeds of the Chicken Dinner will go towards Camp’s overall ministry. If you can’t make the Chicken Dinner but still wish to help support Camp, please visit our donation page.
